LG Prada II

The first LG Prada or the LG KE850 which was just considered as a fashion phone itself sold over a million units. Imagine what this phone could have done if it was rich in features. That is all about the all new LG PRADA II or the LG KF 900. Although the LG Prada II which looks similar to the original LG Prada, its much more sophisticated with rich enhanced features.

The bissgest difference that this successor of the LG PRADA has is its side slide QWERTY keyboard which is gonna be quite useful as compared to the older version and its definately going to compete against the smartphone giants such as HTC and blackberry.

The LG KF900 also adds a 5 megapixel camera with a Schneider-Kreuznach lens. Other features include 3G compatibility with video calling, 7.2Mbps HSDPA, full HTML browser and WiFi.
The display is still a 240 x 400 pixel touch-sensitive panel, and the LG KF900 can play back a variety of media types including MP3, WMA, AAC, MPEG4, H.263 and H.264 files. Quad-band GSM (850/900/1800/1900). WCDMA 900/2100, 7.2 Mbps HSDPA connectivity
When we look at the features overall, here is what it looks like:

3″ WQVGA 400×240 px TFT touchscreen
5 megapixel camera
front camera for video calls
Wi-Fi b/g connectivity
USB 2.0, Bluetooth
Full HTML browsing
FM-Radio
TV-out
microSDHC memory card slot (up to 8GB)
slide-out QWERTY keyboard

With competition more intense than ever in the smartphone market, LG PRADA is going to be one of the tough competitors. But can this phone get the edge over others? Well, for that we have to just wait and see....

BlackBerry Curve 8900

BlackBerry Curve 8900 is the latest addition to the BlackBerry family which is expected to release in a month or so. Its definately a refined version of the earlier BlackBerry curve which surely is gonna create a good impression on the user.
Its compact as compared to the earlier versions but not so much as its has to accomodate the keyboard. The keys are definately refined as compared to the BlackBerry 9000 bold whihc had some issues.

The display is one of the arguable features which is very well refined to give sharper and crispier images with no doubt whatsoever. The Curve 8900 has both WiFi and GPS, comes with a 480 x 360 pixel display (a higher pixel count than the 9000), Bluetooth and a digital camera. The curve looks better in terms of the edges with a cool chrome coating.

On a whole the curve 8900 looks better than its predecessors but has to wait and see the performance once it comes to the market.

HTC Touch HD

Arguably ne of the best smartphones in the market today, the HTC Touch HD comes with an impressive 480x800 pixel screen, a 5 MegaPixel camera, HSDPA and WiFi support, inbuilt GPS and most importantly its a windows mobile.

As the name itself suggests, the best part about the HTC Touch HD as you might think is its display. An impressive and a state of art 3.8 inch WVGA touchscreen which is certainly the best in the smartphone business today. Undoubtedly it can be picked on top of any smart phone's display, even the iPhone 3G is not a match.

The Touch HD features GPS support, so it can be used with Google Maps or another application. This is a quad-band GSM handset with EDGE and GPRS data, plus support for UMTS 900 / 2100 and HSDPA, giving a maximum download speed of up to 7.2 Mbps. The Touch HD can also support HSUPA giving a maximum upload speed of 2 Mbps. It also has 802.11b and g WiFi connectivity.

The standard Windows Mobile 6.1 interface has been enhanced with HTC's excellent TouchFLO 3D add-on. Perhaps this isn't as impressive as the iPhone, but it certainly makes the Windows Mobile experience much more enjoyable.
The standard multimedia support is enhanced by an FM radio and standard 3.5mm audio socket. The HTC Touch HD can play back various AAC, AMR, MP3 and Windows Media formats, plus widescreen video.

The HTC Touch HD has a processor which is a fairly standard Qualcomm MSM7201a running at 528 MHz, but there's a useful 288MB of RAM too which should help with applications. There's also 512MB of Flash memory which can be expanded using microSD or SDHC cards. The large 1350 mAh battery can power the Touch HD for up to 6.5 hours on 3G with a maximum of 18 days standby time, oddly enough the battery life on GSM is just 5 hours talktime and 16 days standby. The whole package measures 115 x 63 x 12mm and weighs 146 grams.
There's no doubt that the HTC Touch HD is a hugely impressive device but lacks a QWERTY keyboard which would have made a difference. For windows mobile users who love multimedia, the HTC Touch HD is the perfect thing to go for.

Samsung GT-i7110

The Samsung GT-i7110 is the latest entry into the Samsung aromory of smartphones which is expected to be released very soon into the market.
The not so impressive looks of the phone doesn't really give a glimpse of how powerful and technically impressive this phone is. The phone carries a 5 MegaPixel camera with auto focus and LED flash in the back. The display of this phone is an advanced 2.6 inch Active Matrix Organic LED which is bound to give a bright and sharp images. Again this phone is a dual band UMTS 900/2100 device with quadband GSM. Also contains HSDPA data support and WiFi. Loaded with in-built radio, this phone supports bluetooth 2.0 and USB 2.0 as well. This phone also contains a GPS reciever.
The Samsung GT-i7110 as any Samsung mobile carries a good camera which will generate quality pictures and also can capture some cool videos. The Camera has autofocus and also face detection features which makes it a tough competition for any camera phone.
The bad part is that this cool smartphone runs on the Symbian OS which most of the Nokia phones run on. The navigation pad can be used as a mouse, and the i7110 has an accelerometer which should mean that it changes screen orientations automatically.

The GPS functionality of this Samsung phone comes with a driving map and a pedestrian map of major European cities. Another clever feature is that the satellite navigation function also uses the FM transmitter, so you can listed to spoken directions on your car's loudspeakers.
Samsung GT-i7110 comes with a large 1200 mAh cell that can power this phone for up to 6 hours talktime on 3G and 11 hours on GSM, with a standby time of around 17 or 18 days.

Undoubtedly this new baby from Samsung is a bundle of features but not sure if it can sustain the growing competition and technology.

Motorola AURA

Expeted very soon, the Motorola AURA is surely carrying a "WOW" factor with it. It certainly is a very exciting and innovative non-3G phone. The Motorola AURA is a quadband GSM phone with a 2megapixel camera and a 2GB internal memory. Its like the next and very advanced version of the Motorola V70 which is also a rotator phone. It certainly is very advanced in terms of the technology that has gone through the rotator. The coolest thing (may not be practical) about this phone is its circular display of 1.55inch diameter and 16 million color display. Also the screen is protected by an anti-scratch sapphire crystal lens.

The other thing that is cool about this phone is its steel body. The phone looks real cool with all aluminium keys and nickel-chrome polished screws. Motorola has done a fabulous job in terms of its design which is a tidious process as they say it is. The body of the Motorola AURA is highly enduring even in case of the rotator as its been built on the swiss technology.

The Motorola AURA comes with a media player supporting MP3, AAC and Windows Media formats. There's a web browser and email client.
The AURA feature's Motorola's useful CrystalTalk technology for improved call clarity. The AURA also has stereo Bluetooth 2.0 and USB 2.0.

The new AURA is a heavy but small device that is the coolest phone is the current market. But as always, this phone has also some negatives associated:
1. It is over priced (Approximately 2000 USD).
2. Does not have 3G or WIFI.
3. Its a bit heavy about 141gms.
4. Not sure about the circular display's capability to view images.

On a whole, if you can shell a bit of extra money for a beauty, this phone is for you.

Samsung GT - C6620 Preview

Samsung is entering the smartphone market on a vert aggressive note and this phone is an example for that. The all new Samsung GT-C6620 is a Windows 6.1 enabled smartphone which has the HSDPA support for accessing/transferring data at hgh speeds. The normal features like bluetooth, MP3 player, micro SD card exits in this phone along with a QWERTY keyboard. The camera that this phone carries is a 2.0 MP camera with not so good resolutions. ALso the display is not really cool as it is a standard QVGA display.

The Samsung GT-C6620 is styled like a typical BlackBerry but weighs only 109 grams and measures 113 x 63 x 12mm. The expected maximum talktime is 7 hours and up to 12 days standby time for GSM usage.

This phone is not a high end one. If you are a blackberry fan, you are gonna like it as it comes in cool colors and also much cheper than the similar Blackberrys.
The Samsung GT-C6620 is expected to hit the European markets soon.
